Rafael Lara-Alecio is a Regents Professor of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University, where he has been a faculty member since 1991. He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah and has held roles including Bilingual Program Coordinator and leadership in tenure committees. His research focuses on bilingual education, particularly the Four-Dimensional Bilingual Pedagogical Theory, virtual professional development, and teacher training. He has secured over $88 million in federal and state grants, leading large-scale studies such as the ELLA-V project. Dr. Lara-Alecio has advised numerous doctoral students and been honored with awards including the Regents Professor Award and Distinguished Achievement Award.
