Rafael Jimenez-Duran

Rafael Jimenez-Duran is an Assistant Professor at Bocconi University, Department of Economics, with affiliations at IGIER and the Chicago Booth Stigler Center. In September 2025, he will serve as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University's Department of Economics until June 2026.

Research Interests focus on the economics of social media, including

• content moderation
• user engagement dynamics
• toxic content impact
• price gouging behavior
• digital policy effects

Publications span topics from social media regulation to cash economy studies, with recent work on hate speech moderation and user behavior experiments.
