Rafael García

Rafael García is an Associate Professor of Spanish at Wilkes University, where he has been teaching since 2011. Originally from Valladolid, Spain, he joined Wilkes after teaching at Martin University (Indiana) and earning his PhD in Golden Age Spanish Literature from the University of Cincinnati in 2010.

• Education: Ph.D. in Spanish, University of Cincinnati (2010); Licenciatura in Classic Philology, University of Valladolid (2004); Licenciatura in Spanish Philology, University of Valladolid (2003).

His research focuses on Spanish Golden Age literature, medieval literary traditions, and the historical evolution of the Spanish language. He integrates his expertise into courses like Advanced Grammar and Composition, Survey of Spanish Literature, and Culture of Modern Spain, while also engaging students in intramural soccer.
