Rafael Gamero

Rafael Gamero is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Modern Languages at Florida A&M University (FAMU), where he teaches fiction writing and first-year writing courses. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at Shaw University (2017–2019) and held a Senior Graduate Teaching Assistant role at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2014–2015).

Notable achievements include a nomination for the Best of the Net Anthology in Sundress Publications (2015, Creative Nonfiction category). He is also the editor of the Apalachee Review, an independent literary journal, and contributes to student-faculty collaborations like Cake: A Literary Journal at FAMU.
