Rafael Calduch Cervera is a Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at Camilo José Cela University (UCJC). He earned his degree in Political Science and Sociology (1974) and doctorate in Political, Economic and Commercial Sciences (1979) from Complutense University of Madrid, where he later held the Chair of Public International Law and International Relations in 2000. He has directed 24 doctoral theses and accredited 6 five-year teaching periods and 3 six-year research periods.
His research spans Public International Law, International Relations, Security Studies, and Strategic Policy, with recent work focusing on global governance, the evolution of international societies, and the impact of digital transformation on geopolitical dynamics. His articles analyze topics such as Russian security interests, defense culture in Spain, and theoretical shifts in IR frameworks.
He has been recognized with the Premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura (1975) and founded the consulting firm International Political Risks Analysis SL. He served as Director of the Estudios Internacionales Complutense journal (2004-2016) and coordinated the Degree in International Relations at Complutense University (2009-2012). A frequent commentator on international politics, he has contributed to BBC World Service and Spanish media.
