Rafael Arrojo e Drigo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at Vanderbilt University. His lab investigates mechanisms regulating post-mitotic cell homeostasis and longevity, focusing on long-lived cells across organs. Research integrates single-cell sequencing, light/electron/isotope microscopy, and developmental trajectory analysis to link molecular identity, age, and functional metabolism.
Key research areas include understanding aging patterns in post-mitotic cells, structure-function relationships, and metabolic dynamics using advanced microscopy platforms. The lab’s interdisciplinary approach bridges cell biology, biophysics, and genomic analysis to uncover fundamental principles of cellular longevity.
