Rae Muhlstock is a Lecturer in the Writing & Critical Inquiry Program at the University at Albany. She holds a PhD from the University at Buffalo (2014) and an MA from the University of Vermont (2007).

Her research focuses on 20th/21st-century experimental fiction, narrative theory, film, and Classical literature. She is particularly known for analyzing the mythological labyrinth as a narrative structure in works like Mark Danielewski’s House of Leaves, Julia Elliott’s The Wilds, and Richard McGuire’s Here.
Dr. Muhlstock actively engages in academic initiatives, including organizing the annual WCI Film Festival, co-participating in the Peer Mentor Program, and contributing to UAlbany’s Living-Learning Communities. She advocates for interdisciplinary approaches to literature, media, and digital narratives.
