Radu VRANCEANU is a Professor of Economics at ESSEC Business School and a research fellow at THEMA (CNRS). He holds a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Paris II and an HDR. His research focuses on macroeconomics, international economics, and experimental economics, with expertise in expectations theory, informational inefficiencies, and their applications to financial crises, monetary policy, and healthcare systems. He has served as Dean for Research at ESSEC and currently leads the Department of Economics and chairs scientific integrity initiatives.
Education includes a DEA in Applied Economics (1991), Doctorate in Economics (1994), and HDR (1999). His career spans ESSEC since 1994, with roles from Assistant to Full Professor, and leadership in academic administration. His research explores topics such as healthcare provision, military power dynamics, and behavioral economics experiments.
Publications span academic journals like Journal of Economics and Management Strategy and Research Policy, and he co-directs doctoral theses in finance, labor markets, and migration economics. His work emphasizes policy-relevant analysis, addressing issues like sovereign debt, telework impacts, and scientific integrity.
