Rachel Uppgaard

Rachel Uppgaard is a Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Dentistry, University of Minnesota, affiliated with the Department of Developmental and Surgical Sciences and the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She is also an attending oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Rachel Uppgaard's clinical and research interests focus on surgical interventions in oral and maxillofacial health. She specializes in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, facial trauma surgery, orthognathic surgery for jaw alignment, and cleft and craniofacial procedures to correct congenital deformities. Additional areas of interest include oral pathology, dental implants, and the management of severe odontogenic infections.

She is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Her previous roles include private practice and serving as a staff surgeon at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.
