Rachel Stolzenberg-Solomon, PhD, MPH, is a Senior Investigator at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Yale School of Public Health, Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology. With a background in nutrition and epidemiology, her research focuses on identifying nutritional, genetic, and metabolic determinants of cancer, particularly pancreatic and thyroid malignancies.

Her research integrates metabolomics, biomarker analysis, and large-scale epidemiological studies to understand cancer risk factors. Recent work explores dietary patterns through metabolomic profiling, hormonal influences on thyroid cancer, and metabolic risk factors like glucose and BMI in carcinogenesis.
Dr. Stolzenberg-Solomon’s scientific contributions have earned her the 2008 NIH Merit Award. She serves on editorial boards of American Journal of Epidemiology and Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers, and Prevention, and actively mentors graduate and postdoctoral researchers.
