Rachel Rubin, OTD, OTR/L, serves as an Adjunct Professor and IMPACT Term Lecturer within the Interprofessional Education and Practice department at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She leads the Peer Facilitator program, a near-peer interprofessional initiative training second and third-year students to facilitate learning for first-year cohorts through evidence-based techniques.
Her educational foundation includes a Doctor of Occupational Therapy earned from the MGH Institute of Health Professions itself. Clinical training spans diverse pediatric settings including outpatient clinics, school systems, and community-based environments.
Dr. Rubin's professional focus centers on:
- Interprofessional education models for health professions training
- Pediatric occupational therapy interventions across diagnostic spectrums
- Career development programming for youth with disabilities
- Community integration strategies in underserved urban settings
- Facilitation methodology for interprofessional student teams
She currently implements a specialized career readiness curriculum for disabled youth within Boston Public Schools, extending her clinical expertise into educational equity initiatives. As Peer Facilitator Lead, she mentors advanced students who deliver interprofessional training to incoming cohorts, creating a sustainable near-peer teaching framework that strengthens collaborative practice competencies across health disciplines.
