Midge Hobbs serves as Assistant Dean of Interprofessional Education and Distinguished Teaching Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy program at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She directs the IMPACT courses and teaches Foundations in Teaching and Learning and the Mental Health Lab. Her roles include clinical education consulting at Sheppard Pratt Residential Services and Balint group facilitation for faculty development.
Education: MA in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University (Boston), post-professional OTD from Thomas Jefferson University, focusing on narrative-based pedagogy for interprofessional education and faculty development.
Research interests include interprofessional collaboration, mental/behavioral health in adolescents, and cardiopulmonary care. Clinical expertise spans long-term acute care, rehab, and home health.
Awards highlight her contributions to teaching, fieldwork education, and interprofessional practice leadership, including the Irene Allard Award (2024) and National Academies of Practice Fellowship (2024).
