Rachel Riedner

Dr. Rachel Riedner is an Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences at George Washington University, where she holds dual professorships in Writing and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her research bridges rhetoric and composition with feminist activism, global capitalism, and STEM education integration. She leads initiatives like GW's Writing in the Disciplines Program and collaborates internationally, including in Europe and Norway, to develop responsive writing curricula. Dr. Riedner's work has been supported by a National Science Foundation grant (2019–2021) co-PIing the WRITES Project, which explores writing's role in fostering engineering judgment. She has received prestigious awards such as the Elizabeth Flynn Award (2013) and Fulbright Specialist Grants.

Her research emphasizes transnational feminist rhetoric, neoliberalism's impact on academia, and engineering education. Collaborations with STEM departments, particularly in physics and systems engineering, highlight her commitment to interdisciplinary pedagogy.
