Rachel Lyon

Rachel Lyon is a 2024 Writer in Residence at the American University of Paris (AUP) and the University of Kent Paris School of Arts and Culture (PSAC). She is a novelist and creative writing teacher, known for her works Self-Portrait with Boy and the forthcoming Fruit of the Dead, which was named a most anticipated book of 2024 by Elle, Oprah Daily, and People magazine.

• Co-founder of the reading series Dream Away and Ditmas Lit
• Engages with students at AUP and PSAC through workshops and lectures

Lyon’s fiction and non-fiction have appeared in outlets such as The Bennington Review, LitHub, and The Rumpus. Her work explores themes of art, tragedy, and public/private narratives.
