Rachel Hindmarsh is a Stipendiary Lecturer in French at St Catherine's College, University of Oxford. Her research examines the relationship between literature and medicine in early modern France, with broader interests in narrative, corporeality, and medical cultures. She has published on Rabelaisian pharmaceutical poetics and medical temporality.
Her work challenges contemporary medical humanities paradigms by examining how early modern fiction and medicine reciprocally informed each other, particularly through temporal frameworks. Hindmarsh teaches courses on French translation, narrative fiction, and early modern literature (1500-1800).
