Dr. Rachel Frieder is an Assistant Professor of Management in the Department of Management at the Coggin College of Business, University of North Florida. She holds a PhD in Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management from Florida State University (2014) and a BS in Finance from the University of Florida (2009). Her research focuses on workplace dynamics, including adaptive/maladaptive personality traits, leadership effectiveness, organizational politics, and work relationship quality. Notably, her work on interviewers’ decision-making speed was highlighted by Harvard Business Review.
Her research interests span leadership studies, organizational behavior, and the interplay of personality traits with workplace outcomes. She has published in top journals like the Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Management, with recent work addressing faculty well-being drivers and the role of political skill in global organizations. Dr. Frieder has received the Personnel Psychology Awards (2021).
Her recent articles emphasize meta-analyses of academic performance’s predictive validity, stress management in education, and social dynamics of work relationships. She collaborates widely, contributing to interdisciplinary discussions on academic career paths and organizational politics.
