Rachel Fernflores

Rachel Fernflores is a Professor in the Philosophy Department at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). Her professional interests span diverse areas including philosophy of language, feminist philosophy, philosophy of sex and love, ethics, social and political philosophy, and aesthetics. She teaches courses such as PHIL 370: Philosophy of Language, PHIL 336: Ethics, Gender, and Society, and WS 450: Feminist Theory, among others.

• Education: Ph.D. in Philosophy (Queen's University, Canada, 2006), M.A. in Philosophy (University of Saskatchewan, Canada), and B.A. in Philosophy (University of Regina, Canada).
• Research Focus: Her work intersects language, ethics, and social philosophy with an emphasis on feminist and sex/love studies. She is associated with Cal Poly's Ethics + Emerging Sciences Group, which examines the implications of new technologies.
