Dr. Rachel Douglas is a Reader in French and Comparative Literature at the University of Glasgow, specializing in Caribbean literature, history, film, visual art, and archives with a focus on Haiti. She is the author of two major monographs: Making The Black Jacobins: C. L. R. James and the Drama of History (2019) and Frankétienne and Rewriting: A Work in Progress (2009).
- Research Interests: Caribbean literature, postcolonial theory, archival practices, Haitian studies, digital humanities, and transnational narratives.
- Recent Publications: 2024 book chapters on Caribbean genetic criticism and theatrical representations of Haiti, a 2023 chapter on Haitian archival practices, and 2022 journal articles on decolonial visions of the Haitian Revolution.
