Dr Rachel Cunneen serves as a Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Canberra, with teaching experience spanning tertiary, secondary, and pre-primary levels across the ACT since joining the institution in 2011. Her current responsibilities include convening Literacy for Teachers, while previously leading courses in Sociocultural Politics of Education and Arts Education.

Research Interests:
Her scholarship centers on literacy and social justice intersections, with specialized focus on the Australian English Curriculum and mythopoetic classroom methodologies. She actively explores arts-based pedagogy, embodied learning frameworks, and literature's role in tertiary education contexts. Current research examines tertiary pathways for refugee-background students through an Office for Learning and Teaching grant.
Grants:
Dr Cunneen contributes as researcher to an OLT-funded project investigating successful university transition models for students from refugee backgrounds, addressing systemic barriers in higher education access.
