Rachel Baskin, PhD, RN, CPN, is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing, Widener University. She holds a BSN from Drexel University (2015), MSN in Nursing Education from Villanova University (2019), and a PhD in Nursing (2024) also from Villanova. Her expertise includes pediatric nursing, with clinical experience in emergency departments and pediatric/neonatal ICUs. She has taught undergraduate nursing students in clinical settings for five years.
Her research focuses on nursing resilience, burnout, traumatic stress, and work environment factors influencing these issues. Notable contributions include studies on healthcare worker well-being during the pandemic and mentorship models in nursing education. Rachel was featured in a blog about her role in the Nigerian PICU Project.
Rachel is affiliated with Sigma Theta Tau International and the Eastern Nursing Research Society. She has received awards such as the 2023 Excellence in Nursing Practice Award and a 2024 $1500 research scholarship. Her work emphasizes translational research bridging clinical practice and academic mentorship.
