Rachel Babcock

Rachel Babcock is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Biology and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, affiliated with the Center of Excellence in Obesity and Cardiometabolic Research.

Her educational background includes:

• BS in Cell & Molecular Biology from Texas Tech University (2016)
• PhD in Immunology from UTHealth MD Anderson Cancer Center Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (2022)

Dr. Babcock's research focuses on immune regulation in contexts such as reproduction, infection, and cancer. She studies the biological roles of Dishevelled proteins, innate immunity, and epigenetics. Her current projects investigate the immune privilege of testicular Sertoli cells during infection and the role of Dishevelled in triple negative breast cancer, including testing cryoablation as a potential treatment.

She is an active member of the Center of Excellence in Obesity and Cardiometabolic Research, which fosters interdisciplinary collaboration on obesity and metabolic disease mechanisms through seminars, funding opportunities, and shared resources.
