Her research focuses on the diversity and evolutionary processes of marine macroalgae, particularly examining their global distributions through genetic analysis of historical specimens. Key themes include taxonomy, biogeography, and the use of 19th-century collections to understand modern algal lineages.
The articles in her publication record highlight interdisciplinary approaches: phylogenetic studies of Corallina species, gastropod evolutionary biology, brown algae phylogeny, sea slug kleptoplast dynamics, airborne algal seasonality, and macroalgal germplasm applications. These works emphasize molecular techniques, biogeographic modeling, and conservation strategies.
