معرفی
Dr. Rachael Akinyede is a Researcher and Scientific Coordinator at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (MPI-BGC) in Jena, Germany. She leads project management for the BMBF-funded Integrated Greenhouse Gas Monitoring System for Germany (ITMS), focusing on coordinating deliverables, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication. Her work integrates biogeochemical research with environmental science, emphasizing greenhouse gas (GHG) dynamics and climate change mitigation.
Education includes a PhD in Microbiology from Friedrich-Schiller University and MPI-BGC (2017–2022), with a dissertation on forest soil microbiology. Earlier studies include a Master’s in Environmental Biology (University of Lagos, 2015–2016) and a Bachelor’s in Microbiology (University of Jos, 2007–2012). She has also contributed to nature-based climate solutions through an internship at Ecologic Institute, Berlin.
Research interests span GHG emissions, biogeochemical cycles, and interdisciplinary climate science. She collaborates with the Airborne Trace Gas Measurements group and supports the ATM Group’s initiatives. Her project management expertise includes metadata systems, benchmarking GHG monitoring tools, and outreach through press releases and social media.
Affiliations include the Department of Biogeochemical Signals (BSI) and the MPI-BGC’s broader network. She maintains roles in technical assistance, grant coordination, and team collaboration, reflecting her dual focus on scientific research and administrative leadership.
