Rabbia Saleem

Dr. Rabbia Saleem is a Lecturer at UNSW Canberra Space, Australian Defence Force Academy. She leads projects at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and space technology, with a focus on secure and sustainable structures for the Australian and global space sectors.

• Research Focus: Intelligent space systems for space domain awareness (SDA), cyber resilience, physical layer wireless communication, and 6G communication.
• Awards: Best Early Career Researcher Presentation (2022), Student Leadership Team Scholarship (2021), Virtual NetHack (2020), 2nd position in ANU 3-minute competition (2018), ANU PhD and HDR Fee Merit Scholarships (2018), IEEE ComSoc Gold Lapel Pin (2016).
• Education: PhD in Engineering and Computer Sciences from Australian National University (2023), B.Sc. (Honours) and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.

Teaching: Course Convener and Lecturer for Space Systems Technology (ZEIT8011), Main Lecturer for Satellite Communications (ZEIT8219), and Instructor for Space Operations (ZEIT8007). She actively mentors through programs like YoWIE and advocates for STEM education in professional organizations including IEEE, Women in Engineering, Women in Space, and Women in AI.
