RICARDO ALONSO ALONSO

Ricardo Alonso Alonso is a full-time University Professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Santiago de Compostela. His academic career focuses on bioactive compound synthesis and organometallic catalysis through active participation in research groups COBINMA and CatOrg (GI-1603).

• Education: PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of Santiago de Compostela (1986) with thesis on 'Total synthesis of isoquinolinic alkaloids'

Research Focus: Specializes in medical chemistry applications and catalytic processes for pharmaceutical development. The COBINMA group concentrates on bioactive compound design and medical evaluation, while CatOrg investigates organometallic catalysis mechanisms.
