R.J. Richardson is a PhD Researcher in Creative Writing and Casual Academic at York St John University's School of Humanities. Holding a BA (Hons) from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, a PGCE (English method) from the University of Bristol, and an MA (Distinction) from York St John University, Richardson works under the supervision of Professor Robert Edgar.
Richardson's research explores the intersection of historical events and fictional narrative, with particular focus on authenticity in historically-set long-form drama. Current creative projects include developing two collections of short stories and a magic realism crossover novel alongside completing a PhD thesis examining authenticity through a series set in 1945 New York City.
Richardson's publications include 'Ronald Reagan's 1984' (forthcoming 2024 with Palgrave Macmillan) and 'Jatai' and 'Blind Corner' (2015). The research demonstrates consistent exploration of historical authenticity, narrative structure, and the relationship between music and writing across multiple creative forms.
