R. Steve Earnest

R. Steve Earnest is a Professor of Theatre at Coastal Carolina University with a distinguished career spanning academia and professional performance. He served as a Fulbright Scholar in Nanjing, China (2019–2020), teaching and directing Shakespearean and musical theatre productions. A member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors' Equity Association (AEA), Earnest has extensive professional experience as an actor and director, including roles in film (Bloody Homecoming, Suicide Note) and theatre credits at institutions like the Colorado Shakespeare Festival and Palm Canyon Theatre.

His research and teaching focus on interdisciplinary theatre practices, blending performance theory with practical training in acting, movement, and musical theatre. He also contributes to scholarship through publications in journals like Theatre Journal and New Theatre Quarterly.
