R. Marie Griffith is the John C. Danforth Distinguished Professor in the Humanities at Washington University in St. Louis, holding affiliate appointments in the Department of Religious Studies and the Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She directed the John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics from 2011 to 2023 and edited its journal, Religion & Politics.
