Dr. R. Malatesha Joshi is a Professor of Literacy Education at Texas A&M University's College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), holding dual appointments in the Departments of Teaching, Learning, and Culture and Educational Psychology. Since 2000, he has advanced from faculty roles to leadership positions including Associate Dean for Graduate Program Development, establishing himself as a global authority in literacy research. His work on the Componential Model of Reading (CMR) and the Simple View of Reading has revolutionized understanding of biliteracy development across diverse orthographies.
