Research Focus: Ryffel investigates perception/behavioral effects of political communication, media diversity (structural, content, exposure), and polarization dynamics. His core thematic specializations include climate change mitigation and immigration, examining how media cues shape perceived argument diversity and affective polarization across democracies.
Publication Trends: Ryffel’s 7 recent works (2022–2024) demonstrate strong emphasis on political communication in digital contexts, with recurring analysis of AI’s impact on journalism, mobile news consumption effects, and media diversity. His research consistently employs comparative frameworks (e.g., US/Spain/Germany/Switzerland) and addresses societal challenges like COVID-19 discourse and academic labor conditions.
