Prof. Cecilia Quintavalla is a Full Professor at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Parma, Italy. She specializes in veterinary cardiology and internal medicine, with a focus on congenital and acquired heart diseases in dogs and cats. Her clinical activities are conducted at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (OVUD) of the department.
She teaches Veterinary Medical Pathology in the 5-year Single-Cycle Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine for multiple academic cohorts (2015/2016–2025/2026). Her research spans cardiopulmonary dirofilariasis, biomarker development, and infectious disease interactions with organ pathology.
Recent publications highlight her work on antimicrobial prescription trends in cats, echocardiographic correlations with uNGAL in dogs, urinary creatinine analysis in cattle, and myocarditis in FIP-affected cats with FCoV mutations. These studies reflect her expertise in clinical diagnostics, infectious diseases, and cross-species pathophysiology.
