Qin Weng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics at the Hankamer School of Business, Baylor University. She earned her PhD in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and an MS in Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work bridges academic research with over a decade of professional IT experience in the healthcare sector.
Research interests center on IT Governance & Control and Health IT. Her publications explore themes such as project management, team dynamics, cybersecurity, social media analysis, and the psychological impacts of algorithmic oversight. Recent articles highlight the role of personality in IT risk frameworks, algorithm awareness in knowledge work, and generative AI's influence on digital identity.
Weng’s work appears in top-tier journals like MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research, as well as proceedings of major IS conferences (HICSS, ICIS, AMCIS). She has served as an AIS Distinguished Member, Associate Editor for ICIS tracks, and Mini-track Chair at AMCIS and HICSS. Her research has been recognized with Top Paper and Best Paper Nominee distinctions.
As an educator, Weng teaches courses in Advanced Quantitative Methods, Business Analytics, and Data Analytics Fundamentals. She mentors students in rigorous data-driven research and applied analytics, integrating methodologies like Econometrics and Multi-level Modeling. Her service extends to editorial and reviewing roles for journals like Organization Science, MIS Quarterly, and conferences including ICIS and ECIS.
