Qin Ling is the Choh-Ming Li Professor of Orthopaedics & Traumatology and Director of the Musculoskeletal Research Laboratory at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). She holds adjunct professorships at multiple institutions, including the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Soochow University. Her primary affiliations include the Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences and the Hong Kong-SZ Innovation and Technology Institute. With a PhD from the German Sports University Cologne and postdoctoral training at the AO Research Institute Davos, her expertise spans biomaterials, bone regeneration, and musculoskeletal disorders.
Education: B.Ed (Beijing University of Physical Education, 1982), M.Phil (Beijing University of Physical Education, 1985), PhD (German Sports University Cologne, 1992).
Research Interests: Regenerative medicine, biodegradable materials, osteonecrosis, osteoporosis, and fracture repair. She leads major grants totaling over HK$150 million, including projects on bone regeneration and biomaterials.
Awards: AIMBE Fellow (2013), Berton Rahn Research Award (2020), Geneva Gold Medal (2022), and over 30 patents in biomaterials and medical devices.
Grants & Labs: Directs the Musculoskeletal Research Lab and oversees high-impact projects like the 'Aging, Skeletal Degeneration and Regeneration' initiative (HK$70M). Her work bridges basic research and clinical translation, with over 480 publications (H-index 70).
Editorial Roles: Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Orthopaedic Translation and board member of American Journal of Bone and Mineral Research.
