Qianhui (Emma) Qin is a Postdoctoral Research Associate affiliated with the Geosciences Department (GEO) and the High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI) at Princeton University. She works in the Zhang Research Laboratory, focusing on soil and marine biogeochemical processes.
Education: She holds a Ph.D. in Marine Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), where her research centered on methane biogeochemistry in deep marine environments using radiotracer techniques, and the mechanistic study of stable carbon isotope fractionation during methylotrophic methanogenesis by marine archaea.
Research Focus: Her current work integrates measurements of atmospheric hydrogen (H2) consumption rates across soil types into evolving models predicting soil H2 uptake dynamics. This bridges microbial ecology with geochemical cycling in terrestrial and marine systems.
Affiliations: Active in both the Geosciences Department and HMEI, her work connects interdisciplinary environmental science with advanced analytical methodologies.
