Qiang Fu is a Professor of Strategy and Policy at the NUS Business School, National University of Singapore (NUS). He joined NUS in 2005 after earning his PhD in Economics from Indiana University, Bloomington (2000–2005). His academic background includes a Master's from the National University of Singapore (1998–2000) and a Bachelor's in Economics from Peking University (1994–1998).
His research focuses on applied game theory, particularly in the economics of contests and tournaments, organizational economics, and industrial organization. He teaches a range of courses including Managerial Economics, Game Theoretical Modelling, and Macroeconomics/International Finance across BBA, MBA, and EMBA programs. As Academic Director of the NUS EMBA Chinese Programme since 2020, he oversees strategic initiatives in executive education.
His recent publications emphasize contest theory, exploring topics like team sorting, sequential entry dynamics, bid caps, and behavioral factors such as loss aversion. His work bridges theoretical models with practical applications in organizational behavior, policy design, and market competition.
