Dmitry Ryvkin is a Professor of Economics at RMIT University's School of Economics, Finance and Marketing since 2023, previously holding the Bernard F. Sliger Professorship at Florida State University (2006-2023). He directs the Behavioural Business Lab (BBL), focusing on experimental economics, psychology, and behavioral insights to study decision-making influenced by psychological, social, and cultural factors. Ryvkin holds dual PhDs in Economics from CERGE-EI (Prague) and Physics from Michigan State University.
His research integrates theory and experiments to address topics such as organizational incentives, corruption, political economy, overconfidence, and contests. Recent work examines optimal contest structures, firm default settings, and clean technology investment. Ryvkin has taught microeconomics, game theory, and quantitative methods at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Key contributions include studies on group contests, tournament design, and corruption dynamics. He actively supervises PhD/Masters students on topics like incentive mechanisms and public goods governance. Ryvkin’s research is supported by experimental methodologies, with findings published in leading journals like Journal of Economic Theory, Management Science, and Games and Economic Behavior.
