Qian Wang is an Industry Professor in the Department of Civil and Urban Engineering at New York University. With expertise in structures, mechanics and materials, their work focuses on reliability analysis, design optimization, resilient and sustainable infrastructures, crash and impact analysis, and engineering education.

Research interests span structural reliability, blast-resistant design, transportation infrastructure resilience, and educational psychology. Their publications from 2015-2023 cover finite element modeling, RBF-HDMR optimization, and code-compliant concrete/steel design.
