Qaisar Abbas is a Lecturer in the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences, specializing in advanced materials for energy storage systems. His research focuses on supercapacitors, nanomaterials, and electrochemical systems with applications in sustainable energy solutions aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key contributions include developing novel carbon-based electrodes, graphene additives, and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for enhanced energy storage performance.
His work spans over 32 peer-reviewed publications since 2017, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to materials science and energy technologies. Collaborations involve international teams exploring antiferromagnetic materials, solid-state batteries, and thermal management systems. Abbas has been actively supervising PhD students since 2017 and contributed to a 2022 invited talk on environmental applications of functional materials.
