Dr. Pápay Zsolt has been a continuous faculty member at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) since 1964, currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Network Systems and Services under the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (VIK). His academic journey includes earning a Doctorate in Technical Sciences (1972), CSc in Engineering (1980), and PhD (1997). He holds significant awards like the Széchenyi Professorial Scholarship (1999–2002) and the 'Magyar Örökség Díj' (2010) for contributions to international space research.
Research interests span digital measurement technology, signal synthesis (DDS), space telemetry systems, and data converter dynamics. Notable projects include the INTERKOZMOSZ satellite telemetry system (1976) and contributions to the Doppler geodesy system with the National Mapping and Cadastre Office (1967–69). He has led educational initiatives like the FEFA-funded laboratory development programs (1994–96) and authored foundational textbooks such as Jelalak Mérés és Szintézis (1996).
Teaching focuses on measurement fundamentals, digital signal tools, and laboratory practices (e.g., digital oscilloscope techniques). His work bridges analog/digital interfaces, emphasizing practical instrument control via GPIB/SCPI protocols. Current lab tools include Tektronix oscilloscopes, function generators, and multimeter systems.
