Punam Madhok

Punam Madhok serves as Associate Professor of Art History in East Carolina University's School of Art & Design (College of Fine Arts and Communication), where she teaches specialized courses and conducts internationally recognized research.

Her academic foundation includes:

• MA and PhD in Art History from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Professor Madhok's research centers on three interconnected specializations: Asian Art (with fieldwork in India, Japan, Cambodia), Italian Renaissance Art, and Italian Baroque Art. Her methodology combines archival research with on-site analysis of artworks across five continents, supported by competitive grants enabling sustained study in Italy, Russia, Japan, Cambodia, and India. This transnational approach reveals cross-cultural artistic dialogues often overlooked in traditional art historical narratives.
