Prodip K Bose

Prodip K Bose, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Anesthesiology and Neurology at the University of Florida. He holds dual appointments with the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, where he directs the MRI/PET & Translational Neurotrauma Rehabilitation Lab and serves as Interim Director of the Brain Rehabilitation Research Center. His research focuses on neurotrauma (TBI/SCI), stroke, and neurodegenerative diseases, emphasizing therapies targeting neuroinflammation and neuroregeneration. He leads a lab with funding from NIH, VA, DOD, and others, exploring iron chelation, oxygen therapies, and neurorehabilitation techniques.

Education: MD from University of Dhaka; Neurology/Neurotrauma fellowship at Case Western Reserve University; PhD in Neuroscience from University of Hong Kong.

Research Interests: Spinal cord injury recovery, traumatic brain injury mechanisms, stroke pathophysiology, advanced MRI applications, and translational therapies combining pharmacology with non-invasive stimulation. His lab investigates molecular pathways of neuroplasticity, including roles of monoaminergic systems and synaptic plasticity.

Awards include the 2022 Jerome H. Modell Research Award and 2014 C.E. Cornelius Young Investigator Award. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and holds patents in therapeutic interventions for neurotrauma.

Grants involve VA, NIH, and DOD funding for projects on oxygen therapies for SCI, iron chelation strategies, and neuroimaging biomarkers for TBI.
