Priyanka Jha

Priyanka Jha serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology in the Abdominal Imaging and Ultrasound Section at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. She joined the faculty in 2015 after completing her radiology residency at UC Davis and a postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF, specializing in diagnostic imaging of the abdomen and pelvis.

Dr. Jha focuses on high-impact clinical applications including women's imaging, fetal interventions, and placenta accreta management, where radiologists collaborate in surgical planning for high-risk deliveries. She approaches clinical work with an 'open every case like a gift' philosophy, emphasizing puzzle-solving in abdominal ultrasound, CT, and MRI interpretation. Her research trajectory integrates closely with obstetrics/gynecology through multidisciplinary tumor boards and fetal treatment conferences.

As co-leader of RADWomen UCSF, she drives evidence-based initiatives to address gender equity gaps in radiology academia, noting that while women comprise half of medical students, their representation drops significantly at senior professor and leadership levels. The program provides mentorship to help women balance clinical demands with caregiving roles, challenging the expectation that women must 'fulfill multiple roles successfully while keeping the tiara on straight.'
