Preston Taylor Stone is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Santa Clara University and a Helaine B. Allen & Cynthia L. Berenson Postdoctoral Fellow at Brandeis University. His work intersects American literary studies, queer theory, and Indigenous resistance, with a focus on reimagining horror and speculative genres through decolonial lenses.

Stone’s research examines how Indigenous creatives reclaim horror tropes to subvert settler colonial narratives, analyzing works by Nick Medina, Carson Faust, and Joshua Whitehead. His methodology prioritizes intersectional analysis across literature, film, and digital media.
Recent publications include the chapbook Ontology of Desire (Bottlecap Press, 2023) and the essay “Queer/Indigenous/Horror: Sovereign Speculative Imaginaries” supported by ACLS funding. His teaching experience spans critical ethnic studies, composition, and American literature at Stanford, University of Miami, and Miami-Dade College.
