Prathap Parameswaran is Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in Civil Engineering at Kansas State University. Holding the Fornelli Engineering Professorship, he earned his PhD from Arizona State University in Environmental Engineering.
His research advances biological wastewater treatment technologies, specializing in anaerobic membrane bioreactors for resource recovery. Current projects include pilot-scale swine wastewater treatment and microbial electrochemical systems for biorefinery applications.
Parameswaran has authored 61 journal papers and holds patents in microbial electrochemical systems. He received the 2012 Young Investigator Award and teaching honors for interdisciplinary environmental engineering education.
He actively contributes to international conferences on microbial electrochemistry and serves on AEESP awards committees.
