Pramod Koshy

Associate Professor Pramod Koshy is an academic at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, UNSW Sydney. He specializes in advanced materials for environmental and energy applications, particularly utilizing waste materials and industrial by-products. He co-leads the NEMCAT research group and leads a collaborative program with Vecor for materials development. Koshy has received an ARC mid-career industry fellowship (2024) for fly ash research and numerous teaching awards, including the Australian Citation Award (2017) and Vice Chancellor's Excellence awards (2015–2019).

He leads over 15 active grants with industry partners (e.g., Vecor, ANSTO, BHP) and has supervised 40+ HDR students and 99 Honours students. Current students focus on piezo-catalysts, nuclear waste materials, and energy storage systems.

He directs the NEMCAT group, collaborating with ANSTO, CSIRO, and industries like Brickworks and Allegra Orthopaedics to advance materials science for sustainable applications.
