Pragya Roy

Pragya Roy is a Researcher at the University of Sheffield, affiliated with the School of Sociological Studies, Politics and International Relations and its Department of Sociological Studies.

Her research interests span Medical Sociology, Caste Inequalities, Maternal Health in India, and Social Epidemiology. Her PhD thesis (tentative) titled Caste-based health marginalisation in India: A qualitative exploration of Dalit women’s maternal health in India focuses on caste-based health disparities among marginalized communities.

Her publications include articles on gender and economic policy, reproductive rights, environmental justice, and historical contributions of marginalized women, reflecting her interdisciplinary engagement with gender, caste, and health equity.
