Associate Professor Pradip Thomas is a Principal Centre Associate and Theme Leader for Communication Technologies at the University of Queensland's Centre for Communication and Social Change. He also serves as an Associate Professor at the School of Communication and Arts, focusing on communication technologies, social change, and the political economy of communications.
His research explores the intersection of communication technologies, religious media, platform regulation, and digital India. Key areas include the ethical implications of content moderation, the evolution of digital policy frameworks, and the role of media in fostering social cohesion and resistance. His work critically examines how digital infrastructures shape societal transformation through historical and contemporary lenses.
