معرفی
Professor Pradeep Tanwar is a faculty member in the School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy at the University of Newcastle, specializing in Medical Biochemistry. His research focuses on understanding the pathogenesis of female reproductive tract cancers, particularly ovarian and endometrial cancers, and developing targeted therapies. He holds an NHMRC Career Development Fellowship and has received over 20 awards, including the Mid-Career Research Excellence Award from the Society of Reproductive Biology.
His work utilizes genetically modified animal models, patient-derived xenografts, and organoid cultures to study cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis. Notable contributions include identifying hormonal regulators of cancer growth (e.g., progesterone suppression of ovarian cancer) and elucidating roles of Wnt signaling and the extracellular matrix in tumor biology. Collaborations span institutions like the Hunter Cancer Research Alliance and Hunter Medical Research Institute.
Key achievements include pioneering fetal organoid models for Müllerian duct anomalies, proteomic studies of tumor heterogeneity, and investigating cannabinoid-based therapies for gynecological cancers. His lab integrates stem cell biology, molecular oncology, and translational medicine to address unmet clinical needs in women's health.
Grants and contracts include NHMRC, ARC, and industry partnerships. He has trained numerous students and mentors a multidisciplinary team addressing fundamental questions in reproductive tract biology and disease mechanisms.
