Pradeep Ram Angia Sriram

Pradeep Ram Angia Sriram is a Research Scientist (Chargé de Recherche) at the CNRS, affiliated with the Laboratoire Microorganismes: Génome et Environnement (LMGE) at Clermont Auvergne University. His research focuses on microbial ecology in marine and freshwater systems, particularly viral-bacterial interactions, microbial food webs, and metabolomics. He holds a PhD in Marine Science (Goa University, 2003) and an HDR (Habilitation, 2021).

Key research areas include phage life cycles, viral-mediated processes, and the impact of environmental factors on microbial communities. His work spans tropical marine ecosystems (e.g., Indian Ocean) and freshwater systems (French Massif Central lakes). He has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed articles, exploring topics such as viral regulation of bacterial metabolism and the role of lytic vs. lysogenic phage strategies.

His current projects involve studying viral dynamics in freshwater reservoirs, the effects of environmental stressors on microbial communities, and the application of metabolomics to understand prokaryotic physiology. He is part of the BioADAPT research team, investigating microbial diversity and functional adaptations.
