Pooya Ghorbani is a Part-Time Lecturer at the Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment, The New School. He concurrently serves as Principal Economist at the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal. Ghorbani holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Public and Urban Policy, and an M.S. in Architecture, all from The New School.
His research focuses on housing policy, fiscal policy, urban economics, and inequality. He has contributed to journals such as the Journal of Regional Science and Urban Economics, Housing Policy Debate, and American Review of Public Administration.
Teaching includes courses on Public Finance and Fiscal Management at the Milano School, offered in Fall 2024 and Fall 2025. His professional experience includes years of work with New York State and NYC governments.
